Fat Bastard

No no. Not thinking about the expression "When the Fat Lady Sings" - nor being rude - although too much of this Fat Bastard may lead to rude words ;o) No I am talking about the French wine label Fat Bastard .

Could not believe my ears/eyes when I first heard of the label's name, but the proof is on the bottle Not much of a white wine drinker - however really enjoy this label when ice cold.

How often do you spot a rhino on a wine label? They have white, red and rosé wines in their selection.

How does anyone come up with a name like that? Well the wine makers have a sense of humor and you can read the story about the name's origin on the bottles back label.

Cheers!

Surprise!!!

Guess where I am right now?? :o) Hopefully I have by this time surprised a young lady with my presence.

This also marks the first travel since the sailing trip last summer and hopefully the end of the most challenges that my MS suddenly gave me - not end to the now permanent issues about my MS but and end to the uncertainty if new routines could get everyday life back to somewhat (acceptable) normal.

Am going to enjoy some days in the company of good friends that I do not get to see too often and just have a good, relaxing time in one of my favorite places.

Have a nice weekend

April 2015 in Books

Up to 9 books again this month - however the last two were merely around 100 pages only per book but still good reads. Picked up a handbook "Kun firkanter" at the library thinking that the squares referred to granny squares but turned out to be knitted squares manipulated into the look various animals - good ideas but not what I had hoped/was looking for - better read the book description(s) next time.

Yarn Bomb Pieces

Some yarn bombers I know are going to decorate a tree in Nordic knitting style - can not be there for the actual yarn bombing, but have sent 2 pieces of knit - let's see I they can use it at all.

The knit with the stars have given me a partial idea for a thick knitted sweater - let's see if I can pull it off and make my own pattern based on the inspiration. The star pattern is from a pattern, where the actual star is being embroidered on the knit - whereas I knitted the star fair isle style - still room for improvement doing that. As I see it, it was worth knitting this even though it might not be used in the yarn bomb as I got an idea for my own personal cozy-thick-warm-stay-at-home-sweater for cold winters.

Star pattern is from a knitting pattern by Stine Hoelgaard Johansen (my instructor on a night school knitting course a few years ago) in the supplement NORDISK STRIK from the danish magazine HENDES VERDEN 40/2013.
