When You Cannot Find...

Can you create it yourself?

Well, believe it or not, I was chasing letter sets last week, and couldn't find any??!! I wanted to send of my first letter to the girls in my Dear Darlings Penpal Project group and in my mind - simple note paper was out of the question...

Suddenly a possible business trip was luring in the horizon...

It had so be something "me" on the paper if I was to make some letter paper myself...

Well didn't want to have this blogpost until I knew that my letters have arrived at their destinations... I think, I nailed it: What could be more "me"?

Well the business trip didn't happen, as too many uncertain factors was involved - and a compromise with safety is not an option. When I travel, there is always envelopes and notepaper in my bag - and as you can see I have already a small collection of various stamps at hand if needed... airplane time is not only for reading or watching movies, in my world it also includes letter(s) to friends and family.

Will your reading material tell what mood you're in??

Earlier this week, I was suddenly on my way to Malta - my job called me up and asked me if I was doing anything special other than being on vacation (as in away from my job).... I decided to go - and at the airport I went to the usual bookstore - I always read a lot of books when travelling since there is bound to be waiting time at the airports and on the plane.....

This time I picked Cecilia Ahern's "The Gift" - why did I chose that book? I made me think about: How/why you pick certain books? My answer would be - I am still having my Christmas vacation - away from the job from December 23rd og January 18th... So that might be the explanation.

Then moving on to tree books on my table right now - and I cant decided which one to read first. The selection to pick from is as follows:

- "The Friday Night Knitting Club" by Kate Jacobs
- "Stetely Pursuits" by Katie Fforde
- "Julie and Julia" by Julie Powell

Okay?! And why did I pick them?? First the selection baffled me - but then it hit me: Of course this should be the selection. I have all Katie Fforde's books - they are all about a creative girl/woman, who for some reason steps away from the daily life and turn to their creative abilities and make it the new life/income. And the creative aspect is also in the knittingbook.

"Julie and Julia" - well I have started to cook more instead of microwave selections from the local supermarket and most of my bread is now homemade....

I've looked at the numerous book titles in my appartment - and I have no doubt... all of them was picked by either mood or an hobby/issue that I was interested in at the time of the purchase.

Is TimeTravel possible....???

I say it is... actually in some way. You just have to pick up a book. Books... I love being in a different world when I read- at least it feels like I am somewhere completely different.

When ever I go travelling it is usually by airplane - you will always find some passenger that is grumpy already before he/she boards the plane: "Travelling is such a waste of time!". Waste??!! Just pick up a good book, let it absorp you - and before you know it, you are at your destination... The past few years I have read a great number of books due to my many travels..

But books are also a relief... when I go to the hospital every 4-6 weeks to get the Tysabri-treatment for my MS, I always bring a book. Sometimes the time is spent talking to others diagnosed with MS, other times I just want to forget about the fact that MS is part of my life and the books help me drift into another world, where MS is not there... If you met me on the street you would never guess, that I have MS because I life a almost normal life. Almost as in I do have to pay attention to what I eat and I have to go to the hospital to get my medicine...

And did you know, that the UK have zero tax/vat on books, as they are considered educational ... howcome we don't have that??

I have too many books - at least according to my bookshelves that are screaming for more place - books that I have read, that is not a "keeper" I pass on to friends, who I think might have a good time reading that book - it is then theirs to keep or pass it on to others.

Recently the library was re-discovered - at least my world... When did I stop going to the library and check-out/borrow books? Now I have become a regular... If I hadn't, stacks of books would be everywhere in my department, and I am actually saving money (books are expensive where I live, so books are usually bought when I travel - which is why I have membership cards to Borders, Barnes&Noble, Books Etc., Waterstones etc...)

If you know a must-read book - share it!! Please :o)
